Len Aritao

Director of Children’s Ministry

Len Aritao is the Director of the UCM Children’s Ministry and a CPA. She’s been living in Manila since 1978.

When she’s not elbow deep in Sunday School activities and craft materials, Len can be found devouring fiction and non-fiction reads or kicking back with a comedy and a plate of cheese and grapes. Word games are a constant source of fascination, while arts and crafts provide an outlet for her creativity.

Len and her husband, Benjamin, have raised four talented and successful children who love the Lord: Janina, a graphic artist; Lawrence and Benjamin, Jr., both lawyers; and Nathania, the President of a non-profit organization serving children at risk.

How did you come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior?

I’ve known Jesus since my tender years, but alas, at that time, I related to Him out of fear. It was not until in my young adult years that my relationship with Him slowly transformed from one based on fear to love as I understood the meaning of His Sacrifice on the Cross. It was in a Bible Study on Galatians that the “penny dropped” for me. The knowledge that He died for me is just too precious that it inspires me to make my life a daily act of worship in my thoughts, words and actions. I start out each day with this mission in my heart: to point people to Christ.

What fans your passion for ministering at UCM?

My love for children is singularly what fans my passion for the Children’s Ministry. I consider it a great privilege to have the opportunity, along with my fellow workers, to lead kids to Christ and tohelp them grow their faith as a sure foundation for their life. Children are precious and they inspire me to serve the Lord with all my heart.

What is your life verse?

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
